Coffins like a Coca-Cola bottle or fish?
Apparently a tribe in Ghana likes to bury each other in some unordinary coffins. The underlying thought about this is: to design a coffin that stands for the life of the one who passed away. We’re not talking about some amateur DIY project, but a beautiful refined coffin with an original design build with a lot of effort and time. These coffins are considered as real works of art, they were even shown in an exhibition in the Musee National d’Art Moderne in Paris in 1989.
The coffins often symbolize the dead people’s professions. Various animals, such as lions or crabs can represent clan totems. Although we’re not sure what’s the meaning of the Coca Cola bottle coffin…
