Sweaters inspire your workplace
LET HAPPY SWEATERS BRING INSPIRATION TO YOUR WORKING PLACE
Luckily working place culture is changing and so is the dresscode. Over 30 years ago ‘Casual Friday’ became accepted as a day where you could have a more comfortable outfit and wear t-shirts, sweaters and forget about the painful heels and killing ties.
The trend is supported by research (The Office Team – USA) at managers and staff. Managers believe that employees are loosen up their wear and on their side the staff better like companies with a limited or no dress code at all.
Good thing is:
you still need to wear clothes, but more and more we can dress ourselves in the way we feel most comfortable with. Continue reading.
Sweaters for Inspiration?
Studies proof that casual wear at work instead of following the dresscode brings more inspiration. People are more relaxed, closer to themselves which leads to more creativity. Even better is that the distance between co-workers disappear when everyone can choose their own outfit. They feel more connected and social behavior improves. Best proof is the worldwide hype created among the most Ugly Christmas Sweater that brings joy and fun to most offices at that time of the year!

Attitude and pressure
More and more around the globe employees put pressure on management to change the outfit guidelines. Many staff prefer to wear clothing like jeans, tank tops, t-shirts, sweaters and even flip-flops. But where to draw the line? What is too casual and when is too much skin a problem?
Still old-fashioned companies want to keep it as it is. They claim that someone in a suit performs better and is more dominant then when wearing sweatpants. Well seems this is an attitude and has nothing to do with their professional behavior. A professional knows how to dress to perform in the best way.
Yes we found a new saying: dress code disruptors. We tried google but nothing there yet explaining this wording.
The industry will have to face that current time requires other rules and guidelines for employees. In order to satisfy them and keep production rolling at the office you need to reset the norms for what to wear. More and more the approach should be in line with the different working situations and not just simply following guidelines.
Hot weather needs a summer outfit and building an app needs a t-shirt and sweatpants.
At Breaking Rocks we wear clothing we love to instead of clothing we are expected to wear.
